Is this why so many women are struggling?

Where do we get health education, information and wellness hacks from?

Health studies.

And who does the studies?

Scientists.

But who do the scientists do the studies on?

Male animals and male humans.

WHY?

Because their hormones are simple and make the data cleaner and easier to interpret. 

Because they can't get pregnant. 

Because the male bias that has existed in everything from language, to technology, to transport, to medication and health sciences for hundreds of years - because someone decided that the default to be human, is to be male.  

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR WOMEN?

We don't have access to health and wellness information that suits our needs. 

So we have been 'set up to fail'.  

Do I think that this was intentional?

Definitely not.

But does it mean that if we try health hacks (think diets, HIIT, icebaths, breathwork) or any mainstream health advice we will suffer?

Yes.

We will become more stressed, more exhausted, more unwell and out of balance. 

Women have different biology and physiology. 

We have different internal body clocks. 

We have different functional nutrient, sleep and exercise needs.  

But since so many of us are unaware that we're living in a mans world, we are living off centre, out of sync with ourselves. 

And when we live like this, we are more likely to suffer. 

More likely to be living in a state of chronic stress. 

And excessive or constant stress, my friends, causes poor physical and mental health.

IT'S NO SURPRISE THEN..

No surprise that 80% of people with autoimmune conditions are women.

No surprise that its almost 50% of women who report burnout compared to 36% of men.

No surprise that women are twice as likely to be anxious than men.

SO WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?

This is a big topic with so much to say, but lets start here: 

We need to re-educate women on the basic key pillars of women's health. 

Show them the simple steps to live in sync with their bodies. 

Give them the easiest tools and best techniques so they know how to come back to balance, reset, unwind and centre themselves every single day.
